They Were You

A host of Broadway stars performed in an evening celebrating three generations of working artists entitled “They Were You”.  Performers included Tony Award Winners George S. Irving (Me and My Girl, Irene) and Tom Jones (The Fantasticks, 110 in the Shade), as well as Yolande Bavan (Bernarda Alba, Bombay Dreams), Judith Blazer (LoveMusik, Titanic), Sherry Boone (Marie Christine, Ragtime), Darius DeHaas (Marie Christine, Rent), Rita Gardner (The Fantasticks, The Wedding Singer) Malcolm Gets (Amour, A New Brain), Ann Harada (Avenue Q, Les Miserables), Jose Llana (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Flower Drum Song), and Daniel Reichard (Jersey Boys, NYCO’s Candide). Featuring direction by Jack Cummings, Artistic Director of The Transport Group and musical direction and arrangements by Joseph Thalken (Harold and Maude, Was) and Steve Marzullo (Mamma Mia!, Once on this Island) and stage management by Wendy Patten.  

The benefit concert was underwritten by Mary Jo and Ted Shen.
